Care tips

At First Love, we really want our clothes to last you as long as possible, so please follow the care recommendations for different types of fabrics:

General recommendations for the care of knitted fabrics

Washing

  • Be sure to turn the product inside out, fasten zippers, and if possible, hide metal elements.
  • We recommend washing products at a temperature of up to 30°C on a delicate cycle.
  • Use liquid detergents, avoid aggressive components and bleaches.
  • Separate colored items from whites and do not mix different types of fabrics in the same wash. This is especially true for black knitwear that is being washed for the first time.
  • Spin only at the lowest spin speed in the washing machine. This will preserve the shape and structure of natural fabrics.

Drying

  • Dry the products naturally, avoiding direct sunlight.
  • Lay out the products in a horizontal position to avoid creases and deformation.
  • The use of tumble dryers is only permitted if a delicate drying mode is available.
  • Please note that drying at high temperatures (in a dryer, on a battery) may lead to deformation of the fabric properties, size changes, etc.

Ironing

  • It is recommended to iron the products on the wrong side or through a thin fabric to avoid shine.
  • For a better effect, you can slightly moisten the product or use a steamer.
  • Use the steamer or steam function for optimal smoothing of products.

Additional tips

  • If the product has shrunk slightly after washing, gently stretch it by hand while it is still damp and dry it horizontally.
  • Cotton fabrics are prone to shrinkage at high temperatures, so avoid hot water and drying at elevated temperatures.

Formation of lumps on melange and flannel fabrics

Melange materials and flannel natural fabrics may pill more than others due to the combined composition of the threads - this is a natural feature of the fabric. If pilling occurs, use a special machine to remove it.

General recommendations for the care of eco-leather products

  • We recommend washing the products by hand or at a temperature of up to 30°C on a delicate cycle. Do not wring: this may damage the fabric.
  • Dry cleaning allowed
  • Ironing/steaming - licks from the back of the product.

Care for boiled cotton items. Items with prints

Fabric with a “boiled” effect may gradually lose its color saturation. This is the so-called “fading”, which is due to the technology of creating such an effect on the fabric. In order for things made of boiled fabric to retain their original appearance for as long as possible, they must be washed separately / by hand, always in cold water.

Items with prints should be washed and ironed at low temperatures, inside out. This will help preserve the print.
